Glow Netflix show Animated Intro Help

Hi. I was hoping to find a simple way to create something like this? i am having trouble finding any answers on doing this. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi. The free Sabre plugin from Video Copilot will give you  the glow, but the rest is creating masks/paths/outlines etc.

There is no "simple" way beyond good old animation of shape paths and masks with strokes. That's the whole point - you have to use manual techniques to make it look like back in the 1980s when they didn't have fancy computers and had to do it by hand as well. Whether or not you use the Saber plug-in as suggested to create the glows and halos is irrelevant. Nothing in that video couldn't be done with the stock AE glow effect. The rest is just meticulous, painstaking work and of course an artistic understanding of the traditional techniques to translate them to AE.
