Graph Editor Problem

When I try and move the little circle in the graph editor, the square moves along with it, making it always be a horizontal line, and i don't know how to fix it. This is happening for the speed and value graph. I've re installed ae and the problem is still there, if anyone knows how to fix this, i would really appreciate it!

(the pictures below are currently easy eased and in the speed graph)

This is how the speed graph works, the handle is for "influence", for the value graph, you have to separate dimensions (right-click on the position property) to be able to work freely with handles
