Hello all, I thank you all in advance for helping me and many others who may be having this issue. I am using Adobe After Effects CS6

So to get started I have quite a strong computer. I will list the specs here:

  • CPU = Intel Core i7-8700
  • Ram = 16gb
  • GPU = Gigabyte 1060 3gb

So to get to the issue that I have been having, I have been trying to RAM preview an audio spectrum that I have created and the song that I am using is 3 minutes and 21 seconds and I have created the composition to the appropriate length. The only problem is that when I go to "Save RAM Preview" under the "Composition" tab on the top it will only save about 40-1:21 of the total creation. I have the resolution set to "(Full)" since I would like to have the background and the glow all look in sync, if anyone knows how I could be able to fix this it would really help me so much, Thank you.

If I'm reading this right, are you expecting to see the entire 3 minutes in RAM preview?  If so, that's a bit of a false expectation.  That's way too much to try and buffer.  It's intended to preview short parts to ensure an effect, etc are properly placed and working but not so much to preview the entire clip.

Ohhh okay, I watched a video saying that when you have completed the audio spectrum and it's to your liking to RAM preview it since if you render it, it will be out of sync with the audio and the effect of the audio spectrum or the audio will be a little bit distorted...I'm kind of new to using after effects, do you know if there is a way to do what I would like to do?

After Effects is meant for building those effects where necessary for your project but after that, you should conduct your editing and reviews in Premiere.

We all start out new at some point so it's a learning point.

So, assuming you are editing in Adobe Premiere, that's where you would review.

It's ok.  Adobe Premiere is the associated editor in the Adobe products but using CS6 tells me you aren't a subscriber to the Adobe Creative Cloud where you would have all of these products and updates.

It is the video editor by Adobe.  You must be editing your video in some form of editor right?
