I'm trying to recreate the audio spectrum visualizer effect that I previouosly implmented in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R77fQD-l36g
I originally followed along with this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJimO9Oftqo&pp=ygUeYWZ0ZXIgZWZmZWN0cyBhdWRpbyB2aXN1YWxpemVy but am having trouble doing it again. I've imported my video that I want to add the audio spectrum effect on top of. I then created a new black solid, upon which I dragged the "audio spectrum" effect. However, I can't seem to view the effect overtop my video; I can double-click to see my video, or double-click to see the audio spectrum on a black background. I tried changing the blending mode of the black solid/audio spectrum layer, but it doesn't seem to help. Am I missing something??

In layer view of course you won't see any interaction between the spectrum and the BG. You need to view it at the comp level and set the spectrum to render on transparent.

Ah, that sounds helpful! I'm quite new to AE, so pardon the incoming ignorant questions haha.
How do I view the at comp level? And is setting the spectrum to render on transparent a specific action I need to take? Thanks for your help. 🙂
