Hi,

So, I'm brand new to After Effects and animating in general. I have this project for my Motion class where we need to animate a title sequence. I chose the 1960's Ocean's Eleven, where the dots form numbers and then turn into the numbers and become more intricate patterns. Thankfully, I only need to really do the first minute or so. Here it is if anyone wants to look at it.

If anyone could give me any advice on how to make dots move like the pattern in the beginning, and how they disappear and reappear one by one, that would be a great help.

Block Dissolve Transition/ Mosaic effect used as a track matte with all kinds of Fractal Noise as the input pattern and then of course tons of mask animation and even manual fading on and off of individual dots. The dots themselves can easily be created using shape layer repeaters or the CC Ball Action effect.
