Holding option and scrolling to zoom has been removed, but why?

This is something I use constantly to navigate quickly around the stage to zoom in and out of specific areas so I am just super confused why, after all these years, that would be removed unless it was a mistake.

I second this question, my work time since it has been removed has increased, the absence of this feature seriously slows me down.

What operating system are you on?

Have you tried resetting preferences? o reset After Effects preferences, close the application, then launch it while holding down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Command + Option + Shift (Mac OS). This will open the Startup Repair Options dialogue box, where you can choose to reset preferences.

In After Effects Preferences > Previews > change the Trackpad Scrolling dropdown to Zoom.

But why change it? It's such an obviously important function to 99% of After Effects users. I feel like Adobe does this over and over again with every update, where an important function is removed/replaced with a new function that nobody needs or wants.
