Just upgraded to CC 2019 and After Effects has been affected by the home button like almost every other program. I was able to remove it from Photoshop, but is there a way to remove it from After Effects? It's right where I'm used to clicking for the select tool and I hit it instead every time. It just needs to go away.

My guess is it wasn't.  Adobe often makes changes despite what its users think are good changes.

I bless my lucky stars that I am still on CC 2017, and have not been allowed to upgrade... or deteriorate, as writers have alluded.

I agree. Long time AE user (+10yrs) and I use both 'V' and the mouse depending on where my hands is...  Please move the home button to the right or allow a setting to disable it. This is bad UI/UX since the home button is rarely used; always consider how much a tool will be used based on it's priority placement in a toolbar. Also, there needs to be more UI consistency between PhotoShop / AI / AE / etc.... but I know that will never happen.

Simply untick "Enable Home Screen" box (in Preferences > Startup & Repair) and restart the app.
