How Do You Select the Element & Drag on Preview Screen Rather than Trial & Erroring w X,Y Position

Hello There,

How does one go about manually adjusting an element, such as a line, on playback screen?

I want to grab each line individual and place where I want without using the Position (X,Y) functionality?

Little things like this make me want to just say screw After Effects forever after this project is done. Time is too precious, and an artist can never just let their ideas flow, it is too much bs.

Thank you,

You will want to enable View Layer Controls to see Layer Boundaries and Layer Anchor Point. You can toggle this setting in View Options which is available within the Hamburger Menu at the top of the Composition Panel; just to the right of the Composition Label/Name.

Most users will want to use the shortcut key, CTRL+SHIFT+H. In fact, this is one of my most oft-used shortcuts in AE; so much so that I've set its shortcut key to an easier to reach, SHIFT+H. HTH
