How to change the parameters of an object/text field [Beginner/Template Question]

In the examples, you can see a 'short' box of text vs a 'long' box of text.

 

I'm trying to type in a lot of information into this template, and I would like all of the lines of text to be as long as the 'long' box of text. You can see a side-by-side comparison within the composition and see that they are clearly different lengths.

 

I've looked everywhere and I don't know how to change the parameters of the field to allow me to type more text into this field. I hope this makes sense.

I think you mean you want to change the composition size where you type your text, simply go to composition/composition settings ("Shortcut Mac/Win" command+K / control+K) then change the composition width, you can make all the text compositions the same width

In addition to what was already said you may also need to adjust the track matte usage in your main comp so your enlarged pre-comps don't get cut off again.
