How to create slide effect in After Effects

no it is not linear wipe i tried linear wipe

That sure looks like a linear wipe.

Make sure you are applying the effect not the preset, the preset has prebuilt animation.

When I tested it:

1. I applied the effect to the top layer.
2. Animated the Transition Completion from 0% to 100%
3. Set wipe angle to -229
4. Rasied the Feather

It might be a gradient wipe.
