How to easily find a layer by its Name or Keyword or any word associated with it in AE

Hi,

Is there any way I can find a layer from layer panel by its name or any keyword I used for the layer title? A lot of time is wasted just because I have to scroll through 50/60 layers to find the desired one.  Coloring layer is helpful but I need to track a layer by keyword or a word . Any way?

I alwys drag layers accidentally when animating ,  so I keep locking layer/s not to move them, Thts why clicking on shape and track it on layer panel is not possible often. Finding a layer by a keyword or name will be helpful.

Thank you.

The timeline panel has a search bar just above the layer name. When you start typing the name there, any layers with the same letters will be selected, and the other layers will be hidden. You can also choose a layer and type the name or even the property of an effect ant that will appear in the timeline. If you don't select a layer and start typing Curves, all layers with the Curves property will be selected and revealed in the timeline.

I use this tool all the time.

I have also found that if you deselect all in the timeline, this is how you can search for name specific layers. If you do not do this, the search by name function doesn't seem to work for me.
