Hi all,
I'm working on an architectural project in after effects where I've got shapes that extrude in 3D to highlight various rooms using the geometry options on the shape layer (which is only available when Cinema 4D renderer is used in the composition settings),
The issue I've found is that when using this renderer, I can't use basic effects such as text stroke (or the fill effect - though I don't need this right now, just highlighting it doesn't work on text).
How do you apply a stroke/outline to text when using the C4D renderer?
Alternatively if the above isn't possible, how do I extrude shapes not using the C4D renderer?
Many thanks in advance.
Chris

If you want to add a stroke to a text layer and extrude that convert the text layer to a shape layer and then switch out the fill for a stroke.

Thanks Rick, I will give it a go and report back!

Hi Rick, whilst this worked the typewriter effect I had on the text no longer works.
Surely the inability to stroke text natively in the C4D renderer should be flagged as a bug/issue?

It's not a bug; it is a limitation. If you really need to add a stroke, convert the text layer to shape layers, add a stroke there, then extrude.
