As you can see. The puppet pins will retain the initial position instead of following the letter N as it moves.

How do I fix it?

When you add a Puppet Pin to a layer, a mesh is applied to all the layer's pixels. The mesh ignores transparency. Effects are applied before the transform properties of Position, Scale, Rotation, and Opacity.

If you want to move the whole mesh, you have two options. The first is to add the Transform effect after Puppet Pin. The second is to pre-compose, ensuring that you move all attributes to the new composition, then animate the pre-comp's transform property.
