Illustrator project to After Effects = Weird path artifacts on layer's edges

I made an illustration on Illustrator and I want to animate it in After effects, but when I import it in it it makes some weird line artifacts where two layers end on the same point. It is really annoying and I can't seem to find any fix for it. Do you happen to know how to fix it ?b3674feeedb0f44a3ae0524451e576df.png

I know this issue very well and my only "fix" is to prevent layers with the same paths on each other.

Go back to the artwork and move the path-points of the lower layer a bit inside.

If somebody has a better solution, I too will be very grateful!

Could you add a slight stroke, or wider stroke - in the same colour - to your shapes that are in front ?

A classic. "Overprint preview" got your behind. Turn it off in AI to get a better idea of how things may look in AE while prepping your graphics and then tweak them accordingly.
