I want to have the 3D glow projected only onto the big sine wave? When I mask the 3D glow to be where I want it collapses back to 2DScreen Shot 2024-05-12 at 3.25.45 PM.png

The glow looks great in 3D (see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIy0PdzTlKU&ab_channel=123string4) but I only want glows to be shining from the vertical spikes and projecting straight onto the sine waves. Is there any way to do this?

Structure your work suitably. Pre-compose the wave, mask a duplicate of it in 2D, use the duplicate to generate the spikes, again compose in 2D in a parent comp on top of the other stuff. Linking cameras with expressions across multiple comps may be necessary.
