Graphics drivers play a critical role in enabling hardware acceleration and smooth rendering in applications like After Effects. However, sometimes newer driver versions may introduce compatibility problems with certain software.
Here are some steps you can consider to address the issue and potentially use the latest graphics drivers:
Check for Updates: Ensure that you're using the latest version of After Effects. Similarly, make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes software updates can include fixes for compatibility issues.
Graphics Driver Update: If your current graphics driver version is causing the crash, you could try updating to the latest version. Before updating, completely uninstall your current graphics drivers, then install the latest version from the official NVIDIA website.
Clean Install: During the graphics driver installation, consider performing a "clean install" option if available. This can help ensure that no conflicting settings from previous drivers are carried over.
Driver Settings: If you experience crashes after updating to the latest drivers, you might need to adjust certain settings in your graphics control panel. For NVIDIA GPUs, you can access the NVIDIA Control Panel and experiment with settings related to hardware acceleration and compatibility.
Remember, every system configuration can be unique, so what works for one person might not work for another. Experimenting with different driver versions and settings can help you find the best solution for your specific case. If possible, always keep backups of your important projects and files before making significant changes.
