Hi all. Today I started having a problem with the responsiveness of controls in the timeline and composition panels. When I try to drag the layer controls in the composition panel they are slow to follow my cursor movements, and same thing when I try to reposition layers in the timeline, or even scroll through the layers in the timeline panel. I've been working on this same project for weeks and this just started happening today despite a) no new footage/effects/compositions that would dramatically increase memory usage; b) doing everything I normally do to speed up performance (clearing cache, reducing resolution, closing other RAM intensive software etc.). The performance problem is only effecting controls in my main project comp. Precomps aren't effected. And there's no unusual slowness with rendering, just controls.
Adobe support is telling me that Duik Bassel and Joysticks and Sliders are the problem even though I've never had this problem with either of those plugins and they aren't even active in the current comp. Some additional details on this project/my system:
1) It's a vector animation project using Ai files and shape layers
2) There are currently over 100 layers in my timeline panel
3) I have 22GB of RAM allocated to After Effects
4) Mac OS latest Big Sur update
5) Just updated After Effects last week
6) Just updated Duik and J&S plugins (for what that is worth)
Anyone ever experience this or have any idea what might be causing it?

Also, the composition workspace is 3D and has 1 camera active if that matters

A bit sluggish controls are usual for DUIK. I worked with 4k characters and a head rig and at some point during the project, everything get huge and the head controls and the head movements became out of sync, while dragging them.
It's no wunder if you have hundreds of expressions working in the background.
I have no idea, how bad it is on your side. If you cannot process working anymore, go back to one of your backups and have a closer look to what you have added/altered in the last time. Sometimes, just a bad file can cause this, or a heavy expression.
