Hello guys , so after rendering a video in Adobe After Effects(cc 2018) my laptop suddenly shuts down (crash)
and i get this error "video memory management internal". after opening the laptop the video file won’t open.
i don’t know if this related to After effects or Windows but i hope some of you guys can help me to find a solution concerning this error.
my laptop specs :
Windows 10
12Go RAM
i7-7700HQ @ 2.80GHz 2.81GHz
Graphic card : NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060
(Sorry for my bad english guys i tried my best to give you a clear question ☺️).
Is the message from Windows or from After Effects? If it's windows the VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL bug check indicates that the video memory manager has encountered a condition that it is unable to recover from.
I'd try updating/reinstalling gpu driver.

Hi joseph.468606,
+1 on dj.summitt's comment.
Have you tried updating your GPU driver?
When do you get this error exactly?
Thanks,
Rameez

Hi , no i didn’t update my GPU driver.
When the rendering is finished , i close after effects and when i just click on the rendered file (the video file) , that moment my laptop shuts down and that error pops up.
by the way when i open the laptop again the video won’t open also i noticed that it’s size becomes so large (about 1.5Go)

Hi! So this sounds like an error with the video player, OS, or other program outside of After Effects. Did updating GPU work? What program are you using to play the file?

If you're getting the BSOD, it likely means that the issue is driver related. Please update the GPU driver and report back.
Thanks,
Rameez
