Hello,

This may be normal AE behavior, does a layers visability (eye ball) always stay off after selecting/removing a track mattee layer in the drop down?

Example video added for clarity.

Thanks

It is normal behavior. In the latest versions of After Effects, you can use the same layer as a track matte for multiple layers. Turning the Matte layer back on after turning off the Track matte on one of the layers would be a mistake. Layers used as mattes are not normally on (visible).
