link text to null object from maya, but only position

Hi guys,

I wonder if someone could help.

I'm trying, with live link, to attach a text composition to a locator imported from Maya.

Overall it works, but only in 3D. I would like to attach (link) my text composition to the locator, but only on the position (so no scaling or orientation effect). Basically, I want to use the locator as a replacement to a motion tracking null object.

Any ideas how to achieve that ?

cheers,

Olivier

Simply use a pickwhip expression instead of parenting. Matching properties don't even require any specific code.

Thank you Mylenium. I will try this. For now, I get shifts again between camera and locator 😕

Thank you Mylenium,

I could get it to work, aven if not 100% to what I wanted. As we have to use a 3D object, I still had a slight scaling on the text, but that was ok. I wanted to have only a point, used at a locator, and driving the position (in 2D space) of the text composition.

cheers
