Linking layers in the timeline( in AE)

New Here ,
Dec 22, 2020 Dec 22, 2020

Is there a way to link layers in AE so that when one is moved in the timeline, the other moves as well? I know how to parent layers, but that only affects the position & scale.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

No. AE doesn't allow ganging/ grouping of sequences like it can be doen in soem editing tools. AE solely relies on what stuff is actually selected. Of course there are scripts that can help with mass-shifting layers around, but even those often require the selection to be done beforehand to work their magic.

No.

The only workaround I see is to precompose the layers such that when you move the precomp in time, all layers inside the precomp move with it. However, this changes lots of other things like render order etc - so it is not really what you want.
