Low memory warning but I have 48gb RAM. Help!

I have tried everything YouTube has told me to do.

I am using a iMac 5K 27-inch, 2017. Ventura 13.0.1 (22A400)

Graphics: Radeon Pro 570 4 GB

Memory: 48 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

I use the lowest resolution and I still get this error message. It's either this or it says I need 2 or more frames for playback.

This is after using four layers and a very simple animation (trim paths and opacity keyframes). It seems to have gotten progressively worse with time. This started around a year ago and I've been purging, emptying, and using a 1TB hard drive for disk cache.

What am I to do? Aside from buying more RAM which, I will do if that's the answer - I just feel like surely 48gb should be enough to do a very simple task? Please help!

This is a known issue. Start by turning off multiframe rendering.

I've done this but on playback it will still only play that specific frame on repeat, looks like it's stuck and the same memory error message appears

Sorry for your issue, Sophie.

What's the exact version of After Effects you're using? Are there any third-party plug-ins installed? If so, try uninstalling them and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu

Will uninstall the plugins. Do I need to keep them uninstalled? or should I install again?

Thanks!

Thanks for the screenshot.

Uninstall the plug-ins and test if it helps with the After Effects issue. If it does, install them one by one and test. It'll help to know which plug-in is causing the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu
