Lumetri and After Effects

Has anyone encountered rendering crashes when you use lumetri on 4k footage in after effects?

I have a project that renders perfectly fine except when lumetri is applied to a footage layer and then it crashes every time.

We'd need more info to go from to really diagnose - including system info, AE version, and GPU info. That said 9 times out of 10, for me, it's something to do with updating/rollback GPU drivers.

Very sorry. I got slammed with some stuff.

The system is PC, i7, 980ti msi graphics, c: is 500GB evo ssd, footage is on a 3TB raid (3x 1 TB evo ssd), media cache is on a separate 500GB evo ssd. 64GB memory crossair.

It's a pretty beefy system, the memory allocation in AE is 62 GB, I bumped that down to 60 as it was never getting above 30% usage.

Strangely I was able to get the renders going but I just can't do anything else on the computer and I added a denoiser III layer to the footage.

Lumetri and Denoiser III both use the GPU. If things are working fine now, great! If not, you could try updating your GPU driver.

Hey jerry5353,

It's necessary to allocate enough resources to other apps so that they don't run out of memory and the load on the system is balanced.

I'd recommend lowering it further down to about 48 GB and see if that works better. If that's too low for you, bump that up to something in the 50's.

Thanks,

Rameez

Thanks for the help guys.

I ended up getting a new fan for the processor, I thought it was running a little hot, and that actually shot the times up quite a bit. Weird though because It wasn't running "that hot"
