Motion tracking works on solids, but not on videos.

So I was able to get a solid to follow a small green screen that moves across the screen.

After testing with a solid I decided to import a video and instead of using a solid use the video.

However, when I import the video and try to paste the track, it doesn't work. I made sure to make

the video comp size just like what I did to the solid. I'm using mocha ae for tracking. Anything I have

to do to a video so it acts like the solid did?

Thanks!

If you solid is the same size as the movie then select the solid that is working in the main comp, then select the movie in the Project panel, hold down the Alt/Option key and drag it to the timeline. The movie will replace the solid and take on all of its properties. You should be very familiar with replacing footage in the timeline. It is a part of basic tools you should know how to use.

If copying the corner pin data from Mocha works on a solid then it will work on a movie so you probably have some user error going on here. The only possible thing I can think of that would cause this to happen would be that your version of AE is not up to date.

So the solid would be the same size as the main movie. However, the clip I'm adding would not be the same size as the solid. Would I have to resize the clip I want, render it and just import the resized clip?
