my after effects sound isn't working

when I make a new composition my sound doesn't work. I tried turning it off and on again and when I try to preview my comp, the sound isn't working. I checked to make sure if it was just my computers sound, but the sound works fine on everything else.

Without hardware and project details it is impossible to even start to point you in the right direction.

As Rick Gerard​said - there is dozens things that can be the reason from PC volume (you can have one app with volume 100% but another 5% so you can hear audio from one bot not from other), input files issue, payback settings etc. and without knowing any specs there is no way to help you.

really it's better to follow the preview suggestion, also be sure the audio icon is active from the preview panel
