My Graph Editor is not working

I am constantly trying to manipulate the graph editor but nothing is working and it doesn't look anything like the tutorials i am copying step by step. 

Here is what is looks like:

That looks like a perfectly normal value graph for Position. The Y value is constant and the X value changes over time. 

Maybe this tutorial I did will help:

Editing position with the graph editor is a real pain in the neck. Editing acceleration (speed) is relatively straight forward once you get used to interpreting the graph and creating the desired acceleration curves.

It would also really help if we knew what you were trying to accomplish. All you have done is set two position keyframes with that change only the X value.
