Hi. I am new to Aftereffects and cannot get audio to play.
I dragged an MP3 into the project area, and then down to the layers.
I am pressing Number 0 on the keypad, and selecting RAM preview. The audio button is ON, and I see the waveform for the music. Screen is set to Quarter
However no audio plays while the timeline scrubs through. How can I fix this? Thanks a lot.
Open Preferences>Audio Harware and make sure your Output settings match your speakers or headphones. Also, you should consider converting your audio to WAV or AIF, as you'll get much better performance and playback of your audio with an uncompressed file than with a highly compressed MP3.

Hi. Yes, changing that did help. It was set to Auto, yet wasn't detecting the headphones. It did resolve it for now, thank you very much.
