Check the bottom left corner of the Timeline Panel. Select the first 3 icons on the left to reveal the switches and modes column. The number of Points is visible and selectable in the Switches column. Hide both switches and modes and you hide the options.

If you"re just looking to have a triangle shape, why not create a rectangle and delete one of it's points? Sorry if I'm not understanding what you wanted to do.

Hi, thank you for your feedback 🙂

- i am super new to AF i am always open to find other ways! i will try it.

But nevertheless if i follow all the tutorials, there must be options to add the amount of points - see screenshot (i put from tutorial) - but if you see my screen shot from above there are no options - nowhere ??? and this bug is not only limited to polygon (this is exemplary),  but also to other properties. i am super confused about this =} ----

The correct answer given here was  probably not the answer you were looking for. If you want to change the amount of points in a polygon, from let's say 5 to 3, to create a triangle. But you don't have the option. de-select "bezier-path" in the top bar. after that you will have the option to choose the amount of points again. 4 years late, but hey, maybe someone has the same problem.
