This month, we want to highlight our long-time Adobe Community Professional (ACP)- Rick Gerard. Rick has been part of our community since 2007 & has contributed to more than 22000 posts.

Rick has 40+ years of experience in film and television. He is the winner of 9 Emmy's & several other awards. Rick is a long-term user of After Effects & has been using the app since 1993. He also posted his first set of online tutorials in 1995.

Rick, we thank you for your amazing contribution to our community.

Adobe Video Community Meet-up

Earlier last month we had an amazing online meetup where we talked about a lot of cool stuff like creating Visual Effects & Animations, the workflow between After Effects & Premiere Pro and the best practices for editors.

MAX 2021

With Adobe MAX 2021, we introduced a new version for After Effects and other DVA apps. With this major release, we unified the version number for our video & audio apps making it easier to ensure compatibility between the apps. This MAX After Effects was introduced with Multi-Frame Rendering to accelerate the rendering process along with other new features.

Top troubleshooting topics

  1. Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder may stop working while rendering an After Effects composition.
After Effects process (aerendercore on MacOS or AfterFX on Win) may stop working when a dynamically-linked application, such as Premiere Pro or Media Encoder was closed or Edit Original was invoked.
After Effects v22.0.1 was released to address this issue.
Refer to this FAQ for more info.

  2. After Effects v22.0 might crash at launch with the older versions of the AEJuice plugin. A newer version of the plugin is now available which takes care of this issue. More info here.
