Problem with font tracking / spacing

After updating to 17.1 I have issue with spacing on text. Spacing between characters is far too tight (as shown in screengrag). Tracking is set to 0. If i try and increase tracking (say to 60 0r 70) this also increases spacing between the words so looks wrong as well. Its obviously an issue and never previously experienced in previous versions.

This is only happening in AE - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign all fine..

Any help approciated.

Check the kerning method on the text panel's flyout menu. Reset the palette to factory defaults if necessary.
