I use the puppet pin tool on the man body. The head part was precomposed and has it's own pin tool animated on the trunk.

I just noticed the tip of the trunk looks a bit off, for some reason the pin effect on the main body did this. still can't find the way to fix this except turn off pin effect on the main body.

Screenshots that just show a problem and don't show the modified properties of the layer are pretty useless. I am guessing that you mesh is expanded so the trunk in included or that the number of triangles you are using is not high enough.

Try this, select the layer giving you problems, press the U key twice to reveal all modified properties. The only revealed properties should be the Puppet Pin effect. In the tool bar select view mesh so you can see the triangles. Check the number of triangles t

Check the number of triangles to see how the image has been subdivided.

Now check to see if any of the pins have been moved. If they are animated carefully observe the unwanted deformations and try increasing the number of triangles or decreasing the expansion. If this does not solve the problem try deleting the pins one at a time until you find the one that is causing the deformation.

If needed apply some starch tools to the image.

If this were my project I would probably make the head one layer, the trunk another, and the body a third layer. At the very minimum the head and body wold be on separate layers. Then I would use a fairly tight mesh and as few pins as possible to do the animation. If there are parts that you don't want to move you'll have to add starch.

If you can't figure it out then please post a screenshot with everything I talked about revealed. Just PrintScreen and paste. If you are on a Mac it's Shirt + Ctrl/Dmnd + 3 to create a screenshot then drag it from the desktop to the forum. It couldn't be easier.
