project files not working with lower versions

Hey there, I create a project file while still in AE CC version 2023 and I would like to open it in AE CC version 2022. I collect my files into a zip folder using the File>Dependancies>Collect Files option within AE CC 2023, and then it gets saved on my laptop. However, even though I save them as a 18.x version, I still recieve the message saying this:

Screen Shot 2023-05-08 at 11.59.52 AM.png

My file is saved as 18.x and I am unable to open the project files on AE CC 2022. I sell my project files and I am also concerned about my customers spending money on something they are unable to gain access to.

Alongside that concern, if I make the project file ONLY and open it in AE 2022, then collect files using dependancies, I doubt users with AE CC 2021 and lower will be able to open it because it would say "The file you are trying to open is was created with After Effects version 22.5"

Is this a ZIP file issue? Or a bug within AE? I don't know but I need to find a quick solution to avoid any misunderstandings between my customers and I.

Any help would be appriciated.

Under the File/Save As menu, there is an option to roll back a version or two. You can save a copy all the way back to 18. You have to do that after you have collected your files.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

Could you please explain this comment a bit more? I've never joined or started any discussions on adobe support community.
