render queue output module select all and change all

Contributor ,

Hello all,

I typically send my comps to Render Queue and then modify the Output Module and Output to for multiple comps at once. For some reason, this is not working for me. Even if I select all it only lets me change one at a time. How do I get that functionality back?

Seems to work with presets but I can batch change a setting or target.

If you are constantly modifying the Output Module settings I suggest that you use the Edit menu to edit the output module presets. I have created a half dozen for different clients, and I have set the default for my most commonly used settings. It will save you a lot of time.

...so no way to batch change anymore? Or assign targets?

I will have to experiment. I have never had that problem because I always use my custom templates. I don't think I have customized an output module setting in the Render Queue for more than 10 years.

If it works with presets I would just create a new preset. That should solve your problem.

I have a handful of presets as well but often make adjustments depending on the need. Also, batch selecting a target seems to be a no-brainer. I can't have my target in the presets because the target folders are always changing.

This seems to be an ongoing problem in many editions of AE, sometimes it's fixed sometimes it's not. I have worked with multiple instances of AE since 2022 versions and have concluded that nothing really works anymore except puting 1 comp to render queue add your output and then drag the rest of the comps to the render queue. That will make them go into the same folder. Honestly I don't know what is the issue. I currently work on a Mac M3 and I have the same issue.

@NoulisMortis

Double-check that you have the Output Module selected for each item in the Render Queue before setting or changing the Output To option.

Changing the Output To location for one item changes it for all other items that have Output Module selected.Pictured: The Render Queue in After Effects 24.x with the Output Module selected for each item. Well as I said this actually doesn't work in my version.
