Hi,
I'll try provide further information if I can when asked, however I don't have much to go off. I've enabled logging and will include the most recent crash section below, however it does not consistently end with this message.
I do not have any plugins installed, and the issue persists safe mode / with reset preferences. I have zero issues with Premiere, Audition, Media Encoder etc, and only AE is having issues.
The only time it manages to not crash is when it is not the program in focus/it is minimized, which isn't much help.
The issue was never this bad previously (I started with AE only 4-5ish months ago, issue has been rampant for about the last week), as it would only crash when under high load/trying to work on comps with many layered effects. However this would be infrequent enough that I didn't have much issue beyond slight annoyance
System:
RTX 4080s
i7 14700kf
32GB RAM
Windows 11
2x 2TB SSDs
When it crashes:
The only constant is that it appears to be when AE is the program in focus. Otherwise, it has crashed;
Things I have tried (probably not an exhaustive list as I may forget something):
As for the current project, it does import photoshop layers in 2D comps and seperately use the 3D renderer for . I've attempted both classic/advanced with and without draft mode to no luck.
I can only assume it's some compatibility issue now, but I'm just stuck and would appreciate any ideas on what I could look into!

Sorry, I should also mention - it does not always prompt before crashing, it has done all 3 of;

Following up as I'm still unable to use the program at all,
I've also since tried the beta version which experienced the same issue.
I've also updated BIOS which I saw in some threads however that made no difference either.

Hi Matt,
Really sorry for the issue and delayed response. I've checked your log file with the developers. Unfortunately, it doesn't reveal much about what's causing the crash. Do you see the crash reporter when it crashes? If yes, please provide your email ID and submit it so that we can get the crash report in our system. However, according to the log file, it may be a project-specific issue. It could be the project file itself, or the media file imported into it, or the location where media is stored. Can you try creating a new project and use only Solid, Text, and Shape layer and see if the issue occurs?
After Effects builds up the cache pretty fast, so that should not be an issue.
