I have several AE files to render that are very complex and will take considerable time to render.
I'd like to be able to use the render engine to queue up a group of renders and walk away from the computer while it does its thing.
My set up is very simple: I have a single Mac - I don't have a need for network rendering.
I just need a quick step-by-step tutorial on how to populate the render engine with a queue of files to render locally.
Thanks in advance for any help!

You'd simply dump all command line entries into a shell script file on separate lines and run the script from a terminal window.

Thanks so much for the reply! I'll use the Adobe media Encoder method described in the 2nd response below - I was unaware of the existing feature of the AE Render engine.
Thanks again!

If you're using a single computer and not on a network, would Adobe Media Encoder not be best suited? You can send each comp to AME, set the output parameters, then open the next project and repeat. You can wait until they are all set up to start rendering (although if you computer is powerful enough AME can be rendering the first comps, while you're still working on the others).
The only issue you might encounter would be filling up your media cache - but you can empty this from AME too.

Thanks for the reply! I was unaware of that aspect of the rendering dialog in After Effects. That seems quite easy - I've started testing it and we'll see how it goes!
Thanks again!
