Hi,
thirst thread here for me
I would like to do this:
In comp 1 I have a native AE text layer (one or more words).
In comp 2 I also have a native text layer. And this text here should "follow" all attributes of the text in comp 1.
So, for example, if I write "Hello" in comp 1 then in comp 2 the text should also show "Hello".
And this should work for all text related parameters like changing the font, make it bold, the kerning, the color...etc. - everything what you can do with text in the "Character Tab".
It is important, that I have native text in the other comps - not just a precomp.
I think this is script related so I'm asking in here.
Can anybody help me how do do this ?
Thanks and all the best
Serge

With expressions, you can only link the text itself, not the attributes. Scripting has a little more capability (you can set Fonts, color, etc), but per-character formatting isn't supported (everything gets the attributes of the first character).

Hi Dan,
thanks for the reply.
I see...
But what about this:
if I create a keyframe for the "Source Text", this keyframe contains all the attributes, that you can find in the 'Character' and 'Paragraph' tabs.
So, is it possible, to synchronize the keyframes ?
Comp 1, Text layer and a "Source Text" keyframe.
In all other Comps and its Text layers, there are also "Source Text" keyframes and those keyframes are "connected" with the one in Comp 1.
Possible ?
All the best
Serge
