I m trying to do a simple text mask on a video.
I have a video layer and a text layer on top that I convert into a mask (create / create masks from text).
I copy this mask and paste it on my video layer, and it just create another layer with the outlined font.
Can someone give me the trick to mask the video with the text outlined.
Thank you

Hi Lucas
All you need to do is put your video layer beneath your text layer and then change the TrkMat pull down menu to alpha channel. This will use the text as a matte for your video.
Hope this helps,
Steve

If you want to have an outline around the text you can just add a layer style.
Layer > Layer Styles > Stroke should do that for you.
Though in general I would suggest using the track matte system that Digital Spatula suggested rather than convert a text layer into a mask.
