Timeline Markers no longer work

I am unable to make timeline markers after the update. The shift - (#) function no longer creates a number marker on the timeline. If I add a marker the long method and give it an assigned number, I am unable to jump to that position in the timelime by pressing the corresponding number key, so that is not a useful workaround. Hoping this is not a feature and is a bug as I use number markers 500 times a day. Please help!

Really sorry for the frustrating experience!

Please go to Preferences > 3D and deselect "Use 1/2/3 for navigation and 4/5/6 for transform gizmos".
