Hello everyone,
i am having this weird problem with trapcode particular where I edit the particles, use fluids and so on, and then I save the file and the next day I open the file and everything is different. Even when I go to an older version of the file or an auto-save version everything is different. I had position the cameras to specific swirls on different compositions and they are all gone now. Wierd thing is that after i close and open after effects a few times at one of these resets i get my original swirls back. Is there a way to cache the particles or make sure they are the same every time?

You answered your own question: Yes, of course you need to cache the simulations in the editor for certain physics types. Only the legacy simple m odes will evaluate directly. You may want to watch the tutorials on the Red Giant web site.

Thank you ,
can you narrow it down a bit, how do i cache the simulations or where do i look for that option or atleast narrow down what tutorial to look for on the website - some of them are 45 min and i am looking for one specific option, I really dont want to sift trough hours of tutorials for one specific piece of information.

The cache options appear in the editor's attribute panel when you select the root of a simulation/ system.

Thank you and sorry to bother you again, but i still don't get it . Editor's Attribute panel - do you meen the Red Giant Designer or the AE Effects panel, i cant seem to find anything named attributes panel, but i asume you mean the settings on the right side of the Designer, when you select the emitter type or the physics etc. Also Root of the simulation - do you meen selecting the master system in the designer, selecting the emitter type or just selecting the layer where the effect is applied. I have been going trough all of the settings in the AE Effects panel and tried searching for 'Cache' with the search option, spent some time just going trough everything in the Designer, but i dont find anything related to caching the simulations. The closest thing i find is 'GPU Particle rendering' but i dont think that is it. Also tried googling 'Trapcode particular Cache fluid simulation' but nothing relevant comes up. I think we might be talking about different things entirely to be honest.
