Hi,

I just want to keep the fill as it it, but want to apply trim path only to affact the stroke. I tried duplicating layers and keep feel on one and stroke on another and then applied trim path on the stroke activated layer  it works nice. But wondering if there is any way I can do it on one shape layer where the fill and stoke both will stay. Thank you.

You need two copies of the rectangle. One should have Fill only, and the other should have Stroke only. Apply Trim paths to the rectangle with the stroke.
