Typed text not showing in After Effects without zooming in & out

Hi there,

Hoping to get an answer on this weird glitch in After Effects (CC 2018) that when I type out text in my composition window it does not show up unless I zoom in and out. I have tried the "Reset Character" option in the Character panel and have restarted too, neither helped. Take a look at the video to see the issue as it happens on my end.

As a side note, I was having a similar issue with Illustrator in the latest update in which graphics were appearing all sliced up unless I zoomed out, on a different forum I read that "Preview on CPU" in the View menu needed to be on to have everything appearing normal. Is there a similar function in After Effects that will do the same? Any suggestions welcomed because I'm going to lose my mind if I have to zoom in and out with every change I make for this project I'm working on.

To answer this question, I have just resolved the issue by adjusting the Color Settings to "32 bits per channel (float)" in the Project Settings.

Try updating or rolling back your video driver directly from the card manufacturer's site.

Your video is way too blurry to discern anything beyond "something doesn't work" and you haven't provided exact system info about your Mac. Of course you can set the relevant options in the comp viewer and the preferences to disable some GPU-based features, but at the end of the day this may not really be the culprit. could just as well be some cache issue or something else entirely.
