I converted some AI layers to shape paths but COULD NOT select individual vertices until I selected a shape layer path, then the pen tool, and then made a new random point off to the side. All of a sudden my vertices were all editable -- in every layer. !?! I just had to delete my (hero!) random vertice and continue on.
This literally took me 2+ hours of reading, researching, YouTubing, and experimenting.
Hope this saves somebody some time.
