Please be more specific about the issue.

You can switch to the previous expression engine in project settings and you can check and debug the failing expressions as well.

If I understood the changelog correctly, with the new update (16.1) it also should be possible that expressions gets auto-fixed - I thought I read something like that.

Many thanks, what happend is that I was still in the previous expression engin (Javascript) in project settings,

If I switch to "ExtendScript" it works fine

More detailed, the problem was : when I click in the expression field to update it, it desapears and a very large line is blinking on the screen (just if the charactere size was far to big !!!) and nothing more happend.

Thanks for your help

Hi Jean,

the previous engine was ExtendedScript, the new one is Javascript.  Now you are on the old engine, which is fine if it solves the issue.

Which is interesting btw. - somebody in another forum run into the same issue.

Can you please send in a bug report to Adobe? Maybe there is actual some going wrong in 16.1 for some users:

Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Thanks!

Can you please try one more thing:

Switch back to the new JavaScript engine, shut down the computer and start it again. Check, if the problem still persist.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks. I tried both situations "Java Script" debugger ticked or not. And both give the same result, the NEW editor !!!!

I am unable to switch back to the old editor

Strange situation

Should I set a bug report ?

I am confused.

I thought the issue was a large blinking line in the expression editor, like as the font size is way to high.

What happend to this issue? Did you solved it?

The new editor is the new editor. You can't switch back to the old one, unless you are using a previous version of AE.

Also did you checked the box for "use JavaScript debugger" or did you switched between expression engines. This is not the same at all - mixing the therms is even more confusing.

Hello,

I am also confused. Yes the problem of this big blinking line is solved.

But what I ticked and unticked is the "JavaScript debugger"

What is confusing is that on the French scrip preferences window the new expression engine is labeled as "syntax highlighting"

So changing the "JavaScrip debugger" to on and off solved my problem  !!
