Undo Grouping Mismatch problems

I seem to have pretty constant issues with the "Undo Grouping Mismatch error". After I run one of my scripts, it throws that error and either does nothing, or totally wrecks my AE project. As far as I can tell, I'm setting up my undo groups just like all the examples in the manual and I see online. Are there any tricks to stopping that error?

I think I ran into that before when there was a path where the code could get out of an undo group without executing the endUndoGroup(). A poorly-conceived break or return as I recall.
