Using Dynamic Link Causes BSOD error: WATCHDOG.SYS

New Here ,
Sep 22, 2022 Sep 22, 2022

Hey! This is the first time I've commented on a forum, that is, I'm totally not sure what to do about my problem. Every time I activate the dynamic link of PR to make animations in AE in a few seconds or minutes the pc gives blue screen of death. And it's always related to a dll called watchdog.sys. This problem only occurs when I enable Dynamic Link. Nothing similar when I play games or use other heavy programs. Please help me :(((((

Hey Michael,

Welcome to the community, and sorry about the crash. Could you check if you have any Windows updates pending? What exact message do you see on the BSOD? Have you tried running the system file checker? Please let us know which version of Premiere Pro and After Effects you have currently installed.

Thanks,

Ishan

Watchdog.sys is your system Kernel's virtualization hypervisor, so whatever you experience is a very deep security violation. You should start by checking your network system panel and run a reset for all settings or do so using a command window using netsh.exe /reset all . As already mentioned by Ishan, providing actual crash info might provide a clearer picture about the actual cause.
