Video Preview Audio Offset

New Here ,
Apr 06, 2021 Apr 06, 2021

In After Effects I'm wanting to playback my video previews to an external monitor (which happens to be remote). Unfortunately, there is some latency when I do this, causing playback to be out of sync. Is there a way I can offset playback audio to my external monitor?

In Premiere Pro there is the option to do this in the Playback settings (see below).

But After Effects doesn't seem to have this option (see below).

Any ideas or workarounds?

Thanks in advance!

Nope, not in AE. It's inherent how AE's preview system works and its limited audio capabilities to begin with. If your device driver doesn't handle it correctly, then there is nothing you can do. that is of course the naswer - some audio setups allow to define manual presets with custom latency, but if that's not possible, then you're pretty much out of luck. AE simply assumes that everything "just works".
