VR Converter FOV @ fisheye

Hello Everybody.

I'm producing videos for fulldome shows. So far I have been using Mettle Skybox plug-in for converting my 360 videos into 180° Fisheye. Luckily this plug-in was integrated into Adobe CC. Unfortunately since update to CC18 there seems to be a problem when using another FOV than 180° when converting Equirectangular into Fisheye.

Does anyone of you have the same issue?

Best regards,

Sönke

Hi Kevin,

thanks for asking!

This issue is not solved yet. I've just tried it in CC18 but still works wrong.

So far I have not updated from CC17 yet, and will still be working on 17

Best regards,

Sönke

I recommend reverting to AE CC 2017.   You know it works.  The latest release has many bugs.  If you have time to wait for a bug fix, fine -- submit a bug report and wait for the fix.  If you are on a deadline, revert.

Hi SoenkeW_Experimenta,

Solve this issue yet? Or did you stay on CC2017?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I just wanted to ask if there are any news about this Bug? Is Adobe working to fix this problem? Are you able to reproduce this bug?

I am still working on CC17 due to the reported bug - what is pretty annoying...

Kind regards,

Sönke

I just came to the forums to ask about this exact thing. CC2018 is an utter disaster. It's like they specifically added the Mettle stuff and then broke all of it. Pitiful.

I'm also having this problem and am working on fulldome shows for a number of clients, such a shame...

Interestingly the FOV slider works when converting old projects to CC2018 but if you switch out footage for new it displays this bug.

Is there any news on this bug?

What After Effects Version did you try this with?

I have just tested it on 15.0.0 and can not confirm that effect. A project set up with Mettle Plug-In in After Effects 14.2.1.34 opened in 15.0.0 did not display the FOV properly.

It's kind of academic, as I can only work this with footage that is already within a project that has been set up in 2017 but updated to 2018. The FOV slider will work on any equirectangular footage converted to fulldome with the VR Converter (as opposed to the Mettle Converter), but if you add new footage or switch out the footage, it'll still do the odd layer bug as you go past 180 degrees

Thanks for your tip to use 2017 - that's working great!
