Why does this happen? My photoshop layers don’t show up as psd files in after effects?

I'm trying to animate my pad file like always, but when I import this file, my layers showed up as photoshop sequence and not as pad files (in my project panel).
My timeline is also shown as frames and not seconds for me to add key frames.
I made sure to import my composition with retaining the layers. 
what should I do?
