Why is my 3D text grainy?

I'm working on a series of animated logos for a local film fest/competition using After Effects to do some (what I would think is) basic 3D work. It's pretty simple, extruded text, slight bevel, 1 camera that swoops in, 2 lights.

I'm running into a problem where the final product is grainy for some reason. I can't tell why (I don't usually work in 3D) but obviously I can't send it to the client like this. At first I thought it might just be the preview, but it's showing the same in the export. Has anyone run into this problem before?

I'm using the "Ray-traced 3D" composition setting.

go to composition settings->advanced. there you will find the options for the RT renderer. try to increase the quality and see where that gets you. also, if you are using CC2017 and above, try changing from the RG renderer to the C4D renderer and see if the quality and overall result is better. also in the options, try increasing the quality.

Solved

Converting to the CINEMA 4D Composition Setting for 3D Rendering vastly improved the quality.
