This is the first time I have used After Effects. I got tracking to (kinda) work but for some reason the image I am using is rotating weirdly.
I'm trying to cover up a license plate with a dumb joke, but you can see the dumb joke in question is rotated a few degrees. It tracks okay, but it's off kilter.
How do I fix this? Thank you!
The solution to your problem: Read the User Guide and follow the proper workflow.
AE is incredibly complex and just poking around in the UI or watching a couple of tutorials presented by amateurs is a huge waste of time. You probably should have used Mocha Corner Pin tracking or at least Motion Tracked position, rotation and scale then applied that track to a null and parented the replacement plate to the null so yu could have control over the exact placement.

Either re-track, or if it's consistently at that angle, you can apply the track to a null, and then parent the license plate to that null and rotate as needed.

You could review how to us perspective corner pin point tracking or use mocha. A couple of the easier way to accomplish this.
